“- very close to nature in marloth park with many possibilities to see/get in touch with animals like mokeys, zebras, impalas, even rhino/buffalos/elephants (from distance) - very nice and individual designed cottages, lots of privacy and comfort - near to crocodile bridge gate (entry to great part of KNP) - best of all outstanding hosts. Mark and Gail were very welcoming, made us feel at home, helped us with everything to make out stay exceptional. Food was great, all safaris were organized perfectly and we had some great conversations. My wife and I travel a lot and met great people around the globe, but this was one of our highlights. Highly recommend!”

“Gail and Mark make sure that your stay will be like you imagine it in your dreams! Everything was more than perfect!”

I don't even know where to start, but this place is bush-heaven. Not only was our apartment (we stayed at the Crocodile Apartment) very spacious, spotless clean, well equipped with an outdoor kitchen, Braai, private pool and a huge veranda - but you can see in every detail, that Gail and Mark wanted to create a place to relax and enjoy yourself. This place was not only a beautiful accommodation to us but so much more. Gail and Mark were the most helpful hosts, suggesting an itinerary of Game Drive/ Bush Walk activities and booking them for us. We really enjoyed the interaction with them, as it gave us insights on South African life and sharing stories was so interesting. We always had a nice fire burning when returning from our day activities und Mark showed us how to properly braai in a South African way one night. The location itself is also a killer - located right at the Crocodile River you can actually see into Kruger and spot animals. We were lucky and Zebras, Impalas, Warthogs and Kudu were regular visitors not only in Kruger but in our garden. We would never ever stay anywhere else when returning to Kruger hopefully soon, thank you so much for everything!

We think the Foxy Crocodile is the perfect safari lodge when visiting Kruger. Here is why: Mark and Gail got it right when they built the lodge several years ago, because it blends into the environment so perfectly that zebra, impalas, warthogs, kudu and all the rest walk to it and through it without a sense that they are leaving their domain. Imagine watching the wildlife outside your door when you wake up in the mornings. Which makes you feel that you are out there in the bush, in the middle of it all. But while the interior of your chalet is decorated with African motifs to supplement this “out of Africa” feeling, it does not spare creature comforts. Our chalet was about 80 square meters (over 800 square feet), was equipped with hi-speed wifi, large screen TV with a couple of hundred channels, a bathtub more like a hot tub big enough for several people, a huge, very comfortable bed, an indoor – outdoor kitchen, your private outdoor dipping pool, and air conditioning. Makes you think, why don’t we live like this at home? What tops it off are your hosts, Mark and Gail. They have spent most their... Read more

What tops it off are your hosts, Mark and Gail. They have spent most their lives in Africa and are really knowledgeable about Kruger and will give you great tips on how to get the most out of your safari. Not to mention that they will light your outdoor fireplace, and set the outdoor table next to it for your dinner. And don’t be surprised if a few animal visitors will look on from a few steps away.
The community Marloth Park is separated from Kruger by fence to keep the lions and leopards out of your back yard. From Foxy Crocodile you can look through the fence into Kruger, frequently spotting an elephant herd or other wildlife. And no, you can’t just jump over the fence to get into Kruger. You have to drive about 15 min to an official entry point. You can undertake the safari in your own car (normal family car suffices, available to rent at Johannesburg airport) or you can ask Mark and Gail to arrange for a guided safari in an open jeep-like vehicle. We did both, staring with the guided tour to show us how it’s done, and then doing it ourselves several days thereafter.

Where to start! I can honestly say I have been blown away by not only the beautiful decor and finishing touches, but by the incredible sense of belonging that I experienced-made possible by Gail and Mark. Two of the kindest hearted people I have met! They are so very warm and welcoming and make your stay relaxing and fun! They have a well deserved sense of pride for their beautiful dwellings and thought every single detail through. The pictures on the walls-all sentimental to a beautiful story behind their past(a must read book awaits guests, who will be riveted in it's details) the wood fire which awaits with backdrops of stunning African sunsets, the daily visits from their resident animals who have a custom built eco paradise in the yard. From the welcoming message on arrival to the birthday celebrations they arranged, the effort they make in preparing activities so as to surprise and delight guests. The most wonderful trip with the most wonderful humans! Definitely a haven where people would return year after year (or in an ideal world, month after month) you will hold these memories in your heart always! The sounds of hippo, hyena, lions and elephant fill your heart as you sit outside by the fire, being privileged enough to be that close to the Kruger national park and it's phenomenal residents is something you keep with you always. You are RIGHT on the border of the crocodile river and have the honour of watching Elephants come down to drink and play, buffalo soak their aching joints in the cool water, and hippos chomp away at the lush vegetation. A stay at Foxy Crocodile bush retreat is a wonderfully luxurious escape, the perfect way to reconnect with nature.

Probably the best accomodation you can get around Kruger!! We stayed two nights at Mark's and Gayle's place and it was just wonderful. This is probably the best place you can stay around Kruger Park. Mark and Gayle have totally unterstood what it means to be fabulous hosts. not only are the apartments just great - so many different places to stay and enjoy - but they also provide perfect service and Information without annoying their guests like others do. They know exactly what their guests want and need and think the step further to give you the perfect experience. Thanks again for these wonderful days - hope we'll come back!!!

The Best Choice Ever! We stayed 3 days for our honeymoon and we couldn't do a better choice. The location is amazing, overlooking the kruger National Park, the the lodge is full of details (I would recommend the suite but also the "standard"room is amazing). It's a pure paradise, relaxing and funny and adventurous at the same time. The owners, Mark and Gail, are the best hosts we've never met. They are kind and always at your disposal but at the same time not intrusive. We'll repeat for sure and will recomend it to everybody aroud us.

Everything was perfect! The place, the location, and the hosts Gail and Mark. They gave us tips for doing a selfdrive safari and also lent us binocles (wich is a must for enjoying the safari), we also enjoyed a lot the dinners that they prepared for us.

PARFAIT!

We stayed in Olifant's camp the night before and Foxy Crocodile was a real shock to us, one of the good kind! The welcome could'nt be more warm; the hosts could'nt be any kinder. We were tired from a long drive through the park and they cooked us diner, made a reservation for a night drive, they are just wonderful. We would recommend this guest house as your n°1 stay for a visit to Kruger park. It's only 15 minutes out of Crocodile Bridge, but you're in the middle of nature, surrounded by heavenly comfort and the kindest hosts on the planet. We were only here for one night and couldn't be more sorry about it. Go ahead and book 3-5 days or more over here. It's worth it! In the morning we had the most lovely breakfast brought to our terrace, just perfect!

Gail and Mark are very nice hosts and extremely interesting people. Breakfast was faultless and we also used the possibility to eat very tasty dinner. Our accommodation was very spacious and chic. There is a lovely terrace with a fire pit. Marloth Park is open to many animals on the day of arrival; on the day of arrival we were greeted by kudus, gnus and warthog pigs. Class!! The Kruger Park is practically right outside the door, you can walk along the fence and see animals on the river. We even saw lions! The gate can be reached by car. 15 min.
